A Rubee (マネー, Manē^?, Money) is a fake, foreign currency in Super Paper Mario. Rubees are predominant features in Chapter 2-3 and 2-4 where they were searching for Merlee in Merlee's Mansion.

In Super Paper Mario

Mimi forces Mario to work in a sweatshop-like area until he can pay his 1,000,000-Rubee debt, or until he can buy the safe combination of a slave, with the safe holding one million Rupees. Mario pays Mimi at the counter. All of a sudden, she was disappointed that it happened and disappeared. Tippi found out she placed the curse in the mansion. When they came to the basement, they find Merlee who turns out to be Mimi forcing Mario to sign up. Mimi transforms into her true form and chases Mario using the Rubees to attack him.

During boss battles, Mimi uses Rubees to attack Mario and his party, but Thoreau can grab Rubees while Peach can shield herself with her parasol.

Trivia

• The word Rubee is a pun on Rupees from The Legend of Zelda series and the fact that Rubees resemble rubies.
• The combination for the safe is always the same (41262816).
