The Boomsday Machine is a large vehicle in that appears in Super Mario Galaxy 2 as a boss and is Bowser Jr's second/final vehicle to battle Mario in his lasts stand for the Grand Star. Description

The Boomsday Machine is a mobile castle-shaped tank owned by Bowser Jr. Its body is studded with fans that can pull in any cloud platforms from Cloud Mario, an electric field that can inflict damage if touching the outer wall and glass cage, and a cannon that fires yellow colored electric energy balls.

In Super Mario Galaxy 2

The Boomsday Machine is fought on the boss planet of Bowser Jr.'s Boom Bunker, where it is first fought during the mission Bowser Jr.'s Boomsday Machine and later again in its Daredevil Comet counterpart, Boomsday Machine Daredevil Run. It is part of the final fight against Bowser Jr.

While battling the Boomsday Machine, Mario has to be under the effects of a Cloud Flower. The Boomsday Machine has two main attacks: launching spheres of electricity from the cannon and electrifying the glass dome. When its vacuum goes on, Mario must make clouds to progress higher that eventually becomes sucked in; however, the electric balls will disintegrate the clouds. In order to defeat it, Mario needs to ground pound on the glass case with Bowser Jr. in it three times. After Mario ground pounds the glass case two times, the Boomsday machine releases threads and becomes mobile. Once the Boomsday Machine is destroyed by Mario, it explodes and releases a Grand Star as Bowser Jr. is sent flying away.
